Summary
DescriptionSteam winding engine, Long Rake Spar Mine - geograph.org.uk - 1586018.jpg |
English: Steam winding engine, Long Rake Spar Mine Duplex geared winding engine by John Wood of Wigan. Originally operated cages in the mine's shaft. Now removed and last seen in the open at the back of the site. There is a Weir boiler feed pump on the left and the vertical boiler was behind me.
This was in the best traditions of urban exploration and involved hiding behind said boiler while somebody loaded a lorry. |
