Krodhavasa
Wife of Kashyapa in Hindu mythology / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Krodhavasha (Sanskrit: क्रोधवशा, IAST: Krodhavaśā) is a wife of the sage Kashyapa[1] in Hindu mythology. She is described to be the mother of Surabhi,[2] and the daughter of Daksha in the Ramayana.[1] She is the mother of a class of asuras known as the Krodhavashas.[3][4] According to legend, due to her short-tempered temperament, the children born to her are regarded to be ferocious animals, birds, and fish, and all the species with sharp teeth.[1]
Krodavasha is stated to have ten daughters in some texts: Mrgi, Mrgamanda, Hari, Bhadramata, Matangi, Sarduli, Shveta, Surabhi, Surasa, and Kadru.[3]
