Madame DuBarry is a 1919 German silent film on the life of Madame Du Barry. It was directed by Ernst Lubitsch,[2] written by Norbert Falk and Hanns Kräly with the title role taken by Pola Negri and Louis XV played by Emil Jannings. Its alternative title for United States distribution was Passion. The film version distributed in the US ran at 113 minutes.

It was made at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Kurt Richter.

Survival status
The film has been released on DVD.[3] In 2014, it was released on dual format Blu-ray and DVD as part of the Masters of Cinema series.[1]
The George Eastman Museum in Rochester NY screened the film at their Dryden Theater on April 15, 2025 at 7:30 pm. A 35 mm print of the movie was exhibited, with live piano music played by Dr. Philip Carli.[4]
