Ethiopian seasons consist of four phases: Tsedey (Amharic: ጸደይ) (Spring) (September–November), Bega [am] (Amharic: በጋ) (winter) (December–February), Belg (Amharic: በልግ) (Fall) (March–May) and Kiremt (Amharic: ክረምት) (summer) (June–August). The most dry and cold season is Bega, while Kiremt is extremely rainy and when 85% to 95% of food crops are produced
