Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31st 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, producer, actor, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Timberlake rose to fame in 1987 when he joined the Disney show "Playhouse" with the group J5. He left both the group and the show in 1990 after selling over 43 million records with the group. After meeting Lou Pearlman, he signed a deal with Epic Records and released four solo records through the label totalling 34 million record sales.

In 1993, Timberlake returned to Disney and his former J5 bandmates JC Chasez and Lance Bass on the revived "Mickey Mouse Club" before the launch of NSYNC in 1995 who became the world's best-selling boyband of all time. In 1996, the group released "Thriller" as their second studio album which sold over 65 million copies becoming the best-selling record of all time. The group split in 2005 to facilitate Timberlake's solo career which launched in 2002.
