The 2014 Avian flu/Bird flu outbreak in Kerala occurred in the Kuttanad region of Kerala, India in 2014. The infection was caused by the H5N1 subtype of the Influenza A virus, which is the most fatal and deadly among the bird flu causing viruses. The incident was the first of its kind in Kerala.

On 24 November 2014, the Kerala government confirmed the virus infection. The report was following the incidents occurring in the two weeks prior, in which ducks were found dead near the backwaters of Alappuzha, followed by its border district Pathanamthitta, and locations in Kottayam. The infection also killed chickens. No human infections were reported.
