El criollu portugués ye faláu nes llocalidaes del sur de la isla de Santu Tomé, cuantimás en São João dos Angolares. Ye un criollu, basáu nel portugués con un altu sustratu d'un dialeutu del kimbundu, una llingua bantú d'Angola, país d'onde proveníen una gran cantidá d'esclavos.
