L'idioma Itzá (autoglotónimu Itza' ) ye una llingua mayense que forma parte de la caña yucateca, xunto col maya yucateco, lacandón y mopán. Nel pasáu yera faláu pola totalidá de la población Itzá n'El Petén y en Belize. Na actualidá l'idioma ta estinguíu en Belice y ye namái faláu por una docena de persones mayores en Guatemala nes comunidaes itzá allugaes al norte del llagu de Petén Itzá.[1]
L'Academia de Llingües Mayes de Guatemala ta sofitando esfuercios pa rescatar l'idioma cola formación de facilitadores d'enseñanza del idioma maya Itza' nos establecimientos educativos.[2]
