Hugh Lofting

Hugh John Lofting (14. januar 1886 – 26. septembar 1947) bio je britanski književnik, autor, a po struci i inženjer. Svoju slavu kao pisac dosegao je kreirajući dječiji lik Doctora Dolittlea.

Nakon odsluženja vojnog roka u Prvom svjetskom ratu, gdje je bio ozbiljno ranjen, preselio se sa svojom bližom obitelji u Connecticut, SAD, gdje je nastavio da stvara.

Nakon njegove smrti, njegov sin Christopher postao je nosilac intelektualne svojine nad njegovim djelima.
