The Junior women's race at the 2000 IAAF World Cross Country Championships was held at the Sporting Complex in Vilamoura, Portugal, on March 18, 2000. Reports on the event were given in The New York Times,[1][2] in the Glasgow Herald,[3] and for the IAAF.[4]
Complete results[5] for individuals,[6][7] for teams,[6][8] medallists,[9] and the results of British athletes who took part[10] were published.

An unofficial count yields the participation of 131 athletes from 36 countries in the Junior women's race. This is in agreement with the official numbers as published.[10] The announced athlete from Guatemala did not show.[5][7]
