Belomorsky District

Belomorsky District (Russian: Беломо́рский райо́н; Karelian: Belomorskin piiri) is an administrative district (raion), one of the fifteen in the Republic of Karelia, Russia.[1] It is located in the east of the republic. The area of the district is 13,000 square kilometers (5,000 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the town of Belomorsk.[2] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 19,118, with the population of Belomorsk accounting for 58.7% of that number.[4]
