Other information | I am a longtime publishing industry professional. In my extensive experience it is standard in the U.S. publishing industry and review media to allow the reproduction of a book's front cover artwork (but not interior artwork) without requiring permission clearances, provided the image is being used in the context of a review essay or journalistic mention of the book. Book jacket images are in this sense regarded as promotional/marketing items created with the intent that they will be circulated and used freely in situations that bring attention to the published work they represent. |
