DescriptionAust Gippsland Water Dragon, Physignathus lesueurii howittii, MRNP, jjron, 13.02.2012.jpg |
English: Gippsland Water Dragon, Intellagama lesueurii howittii (formerly Physignathus lesueurii howittii), a subspecies of the Australian water dragon, Intellagama lesueurii (formerly Physignathus lesueurii). Individual pictured was approx. 50–60 cm long, and this size along with the somewhat muted colouration indicates it was therefore most likely a female and/or semi-juvenile. Image shows the camouflage of the dragon with the lichen covered rocks in its natural environment. Photographed in Deadcock Den alongside Woolshed Creek in the Mitchell River National Park, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. 13 February, 2012. |
