Afrikaans: Uitbeelding van Cilliers se voordrag van die gelofte, 1838. Die gelofte is op 9 Des. voor sowat 460 voortrekkers en ander teenwoordiges aan die Wasbankrivier voorgedra, en is elke aand daarop bevestig tot die 15de, toe Dingaan se impies om die laer saamgetrek was. In 1938 het die Suid-Afrikaanse Spoorweë se publisiteitsafdeling Die bou van 'n nasie / They built a nation vervaardig, met o.m. Myles Bourke as Piet Retief, en toneelspelers van die Volksteater-toneelgroep. Die regiseurs was Joseph Albrecht en A.A. Pienaar.
English: Reenactment of the vow taken by Cilliers, some 460 voortrekkers and others present on 9 Dec. 1838 at the Wasbank River, and confirmed every evening up to the 15th when the enemy was in view. In 1938 the South African Railways and Harbours public relations department produced Die bou van 'n nasie / They built a nation, which included Myles Bourke as Piet Retief and actors of the "Volksteater-toneelgroep". The directors were Joseph Albrecht and A.A. Pienaar.
