English: "Afonso de Albuquerque succeeded Dom Francisco de Almeida as governor of India in November 1509. Twice he seized the city of Goa and Malacca and Hormuz, and he also built the Fortress of Calicut, went to Persia and the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea."
