Note on other ships of this name: A second Shooting Star, a medium clipper, was built in New York in 1859, and captured and burned by Confederate privateer Chickamauga, in 1864. A third Shooting Star was an extreme clipper built in New York under the name of Ino. This ship was renamed Shooting Star in 1867. (1927) American Clipper Ships 1833-1858.
