English: William Douglas Caröe was born in 1857 in Liverpool and was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge where he took a degree in Mathematics. After leaving University, he became articled to a Liverpool architect, E.B. Kirby but in 1882 was taken on by the noted Victorian architect, J. L. Pearson. |
