English: The 13,329 GRT Union-Castle liner Edinburgh Castle, built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast in 1910 and laid up in 1938. In the Second World war the Admiralty acquired her as an accommodation ship for Freetown, Sierra Leone. In 1945 she was scuttled off Sierra Leone as towing her back to the UK was deemed uneconomic. |
