Object history | “An Oviraptor is a remarkably bird-like dinosaur that is well represented in the Late Cretaceous rocks of Mongolia and Northern China. This creature had a cranial crest (much like that of a modern day cassowary) and a powerful toothless beak. These small theropods only grew to a length of 6 feet and probably were able to hunt insects and other small animals as well as using their beaks to crack open dinosaur eggs.” The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, IMCPL Digital Collections | |||||||||||||||||||||||
