Deutsch: Orgel der Michaelerkirche im 1. Bezirk der österreichischen Bundeshauptstadt Wien.
Die heutige Pfarr- und Klosterkirche der Salvatorianer wurde 1220 errichtet und war bereits 1288 einer der 3 Stadtpfarrkirchen. Nach mehreren Großbränden und einem Erdbeben wurde die Kirche mehrfach umgebaut. Die Orgel mit 40 Register, 3 Manuale und Pedal ist Wiens größte und fast vollständig erhaltene Barockorgel. Sie wurde von Johann David Sieber gefertigt und am 24. Jänner 1714 in Gegenwart von Kaiser Karl den Vl. erstmalig bespielt. Wegen einer unzulänglichen Emporekonstruktion wurde sie 1742 von Gottfried Sonnholz umgebaut (Rückpositiv wurde von der Orgelbrüstung entfernt und als Hinterwerk zum Hauptgehäuse hin versetzt). 1986/87 erfolgte durch Jürgen Ahrend Orgelbau ein Rückbau in den Originalzustand. |
