Gadolinium(III) perchlorate

Gadolinium(III) perchlorate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Gd(ClO₄)₃. It can be obtained by reacting gadolinium(III) oxide and perchloric acid (70~72%) at 80 °C.^[1] It can form colorless Gd(ClO₄)₃·9H₂O·4C₄H₈O₂ complex crystals with 1,4-dioxane.^[2] It reacts with inositol, sodium acetate, and sodium hydroxide to obtain complexes containing giant molecular clusters {Gd₁₄₀}.^[1] It reacts with chromium(III) chloride and 2,2'-bipyridine at pH=5.1 to obtain [GdCr(bipy)₂(OH)₂(H₂O)₆](ClO₄)₄·2H₂O.^[3]
