Gonzales Independent School District is a public school district based in Gonzales, Texas (USA).

Located in Gonzales County, a small portion of the district extends into Caldwell County.

The school district was recently engaged in a scandal over the use of prison jumpsuits as school uniforms. Opponents cited possible violations of the first amendment and it was rumored that the ACLU was involved.[1]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[2]

In 2021 the district realigned its grades.[3]
