Lavis (Lavìs in local dialect) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 9 kilometres (6 miles) north of Trento. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 9.000 and an area of 12.4 square kilometres (4.8 sq mi).[3]
