Online public access catalog

<p>The <b>online public access catalog</b> (<b>OPAC</b>), now frequently synonymous with <i><a href="/en/Library_catalog" title="Library catalog" class="wl">library catalog</a></i>, is an <a href="/en/Online_database" title="Online database" class="wl">online database</a> of materials held by a <a href="/en/Library" title="Library" class="wl">library</a> or <a href="/en/Library_consortium" title="Library consortium" class="wl">group of libraries</a>. Online catalogs have largely replaced the analog <a href="/en/Card_catalog" title="Card catalog" class="mw-redirect wl">card catalogs</a> previously used in libraries.</p>
