DRUG TRAFFICKING IN THAILAND Narcotics refer to substances that, when consumed, cause notable physiological or mental effects, including escalating dosage needs, withdrawal symptoms, persistent cravings, and health decline, excluding certain household medicines with narcotic ingredients under drug laws.[1] Drug and narcotic misuse have been a troubling problem in Thailand for a while. As reported by Bangkok Post, in the six months spanning the end of 2021 to the start of 2022, Thai officials captured 260 million drugs and took away assets worth almost 2.4 billion baht from those involved in drug-related activities (Bangkok Post, 2022).
