Spassky District (Russian: Спа́сский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 693.3 square kilometers (267.7 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Spassk.[1] Population: 13,008 (2010 Census);[3] 13,827 (2002 Census);[7] 15,475 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Spassk accounts for 57.2% of the district's total population.[3]
