Actually, the lighthouse of cape barfleur is on Gatteville Commun, this cape is also called Gatteville 's cape
One might mention "The Lay of the Beach" by "the Red Lady of Brittany", a poem written about a Norman fleet gathered in Barfleur. A short description of it survives in a Norse translation, "Strandar ljóð", from the early 1200s. (I cannot help wondering whether the Red Lady was the famous "Muriel the Poetess" who later resided in Wilton Abbey, Muriel being a classic Breton name.) Zoetropo (talk) 01:53, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
