This article (posted substantially as it still is by rmeyermn in August 2006, is virtually an exact copy of Dr. Schmandt-Besserat's home page at the University of Texas. See this.Brett epic 17:05, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

The criticism section, the longest section of the article, strongly implies that Schmandt-Besserat has taken credit unfairly, ignores the work of others, or makes exaggerated claims as to her contribution. It may be that the media coverage of this subject (the origins of language, the use of the tokens and bullae) may have exaggerated Schmandt-Besserat's contribution to make a good magazine article or TV doc, and in the process ignored important work done by others. If that's the case we should say so, and not blame her for grabbing the limelight and being a glory hound. As it stands now, I find the article to be somewhat lopsided. At the very least I'll add a few sentences about her work, her methods and how they may have been different from what had come before. Sam Perkins (talk) 19:19, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
