From where do you know that he is in the St. Martin's Cathedral? (This is no doubt, just a question). Juro
I posted what the Catholic Encyclopedia says as an alternative, which differs from the original version. If anybody can find the answer to this, please change the article. Liblamb 04:36, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
The Catholic Encyclopedia says, "His body was brought to Constantinople, thence to Ofen by King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary; thence in 1530 to Toll near Presburg, and finally in 1632 to Presburg cathedral." Ofen is another name for Budapest, "Budapest was formed in 1873 by the union of Buda (Ger. Ofen) and Óbuda (Ger. Alt-Ofen) on the right bank of the Danube River with Pest on the left bank." I couldn't find further info about Toll. Presburg is another name for Bratislava. According to this site, the body was not in Venice but in Constantinople until the Ottoman Sultan gave it to King Mathius in the 15th century. It is also confusing because his body and his relics seem to have taken different routes to get to their current destination at St. Martins.
