Sue and Frank, Second Sino-Japanese War is the better name as we don't need to worry about the starting year in the title. The issue can be dealt within the article. BTW Google search on that title yield exact description of the conflict. -- KT2
I had started out calling it the Second Sino-Japanese War, but someone else changed it to use the dates, which I took to be a common practice.

You will find a lot since the War has been the major research field in modern Chinese, Koeran and Japanese history. Just be careful on how different people naming it: Sino-Japanese War, Second Sino-Japanese War, Sino-Japanese Conflict, Japanese aggreesion or invasion of China, to name a few.-- KT2
There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:First Sino-Japanese War which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 16:13, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
