The Rangers finished their season 67-95, and finished 5th place in the ALWest.[3] With little success the previous seasons, Jeff Banister was fired as club manager. Rangers bench coach, Don Wakamatsu, was promoted to interim manager for the final games of the season.[4] After the season concluded, the Rangers decided on Chris Woodward to be the new team manager. [5]
The Rangers pulled off a rare 5-4 triple play during a game with the Los Angles Angles. This was the first triple play where the batter was not retired since 1912.[6]

This season's opener was on March 28, and it acted as the final opening day game at the stadium.[7] The final season at Globe Life Park (not to be confused with the new Globe Life Park) marked the end of an era.[8] The club is set to move into the new stadium for the 2020 season.[9] With the retirement of Adrian Beltre, numerous trades, and moving around of players, Elvis Andrus is the last player to connect the team to their 2011 World Series run.[10] The Ranger's new manager, Chris Woodward, explains the direction of the 2019 season;
“Results are important, don’t get me wrong. But this season is also about redefining our definition of success.”
The Rangers have not won a playoff game in three years, and sportsbook and casino, Caesars Palace, predicts a 67-95 season.[11]
