- The hijackers began their first attack at around 8:13 a.m., when a group of five took control of American Airlines Flight 11, injuring two people and murdering one before forcing their way into the cockpit.
- The fourth and final hijacked plane of the attacks was crashed in a Pennsylvania field at 10:03 a.m., which concluded the attacks, since all the attackers were now dead and all of the hijacked planes were destroyed. However, the attackers' damage continued as the North Tower kept burning for an additional 25 minutes, until it ultimately collapsed by 10:28 a.m.
