Juana Azurduy de Padilla (12 July 1780 – 25 May 1862) was a military leader from Upper Peru, in present-day Bolivia, known for her role alongside her husband, Manuel Ascencio Padilla, in the guerrilla warfare that characterized the Spanish American wars of independence in that region.
This name uses Spanish naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Azurduy, and, for married women, the optional marital name is de Padilla.
