As of 2017, Busch has 42 wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, 91 in the Xfinity Series, and 49 in the Camping World Truck Series for a total of 182 wins across NASCAR's top three national series.
Busch started racing in NASCAR in 2001 when he was 16 years old, driving six races for Roush Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series (now Camping World Truck Series) before a minimum age of 18 years old was implemented in NASCAR.[1][2] In 2003, Busch became a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports and returned to NASCAR in the Busch Series (now Xfinity Series).[3][4] He ran full-time for Hendrick Motorsports in the Busch Series in 2004 and would also make his Nextel Cup Series (now Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series) debut that year.[5][6] Busch won Rookie of the Year honors in the Busch Series in 2004.[7] In 2005, Busch began racing full-time for Hendrick Motorsports in the Nextel Cup Series and would win Rookie of the Year honors.[8][9] In 2008, Busch moved to Joe Gibbs Racing in the Sprint Cup Series (now Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series).[10] Busch won the Nationwide Series (now Xfinity Series) championship in the 2009 season.[11] Despite missing the first 11 races of the season due to a leg injury sustained in a crash in an Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway, Busch won the Sprint Cup Series championship in the 2015 season.[12] As of 2017, Busch races full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, part-time for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series, and part-time for his own Kyle Busch Motorsports team in the Camping World Truck Series.
Busch holds many achievements in NASCAR competition in regards to wins across all three national series. Busch is one of 28 drivers who have won in each of top three series. His 42 wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is 17th most all-time. Busch holds the overall record for most wins in the Xfinity Series with 91 wins and has the second-most wins in the Camping World Truck Series with 49 wins, two wins behind record holder Ron Hornaday Jr. He also has the record for most wins across all three NASCAR national series in a single season, which he accomplished in 2010 with 24 wins. Busch also has the most Xfinity Series wins in a single season with 13 wins in the 2010 season.[13] Busch is the only driver to win all three NASCAR national series races in the same weekend at the same track, which he did twice at Bristol Motor Speedway in August 2010 and August 2017.[14][15] He is also the first driver to win two NASCAR national series races in the same day, doing it at Auto Club Speedway in 2009.[16] Busch became the second driver to win on their birthday when he won at Richmond International Raceway on May 2, 2009.[17][N 1]
