Requests for page protection
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: Seems edit war among two users may break out one of them is IP. A weeks protection may help so they think to join on talk page. Bookku (talk) 06:24, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Consider the edit warring noticeboard – This is a case of possible edit-warring by one or two users. Although this might be a bit early...at the moment it's very slow. Lectonar (talk) 07:26, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – There's an IP hopping anonymous editor from Egypt who, for the last month, kept removing release dates and added that it is "the final game" (which shouldn't be added, it is the *last* entry, not the *final* entry). Warnings haven't worked, behavior continues. Perhaps a temporary edit protect makes it clear that has to stop. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:20, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Pending-changes protected for a period of 3 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Disruption not heavy enough for semi-protection. Lectonar (talk) 10:15, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: A possible war of edits, a new account, even without hundreds of edits, removes data from sources and ignores the discussion page, continuing to add its own data Dushnilkin (talk) 11:41, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. This is a slow back and forth, with only the FR1917 reintroducing a french victory. Fwiw, the German article about the battle shows the result as "indecisive", whereas the French page says it's a "french victory, russian retreat". You could also ask over at WP:MILHIST, they're quite active.Lectonar (talk) 12:26, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Aggressive vandalism going on BlameRuiner (talk) 13:52, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: BLP Policy Violations. Brazil based LTA is persistently changing the birth date of the topic to what contradicts sources, using multiple IP's. The most simple solution for this chronic issue would be to indefinetely semi-protect the article to prevent further BLP violations. TylerBurden (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Request a specific edit to a protected page Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}} , {{Edit template-protected}} , {{Edit extended-protected}} , or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
- Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}} template should be used.
- Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Requests for autopatrolled |
Autopatrolled
I have created over 120 articles (over 40 since 2023) on various STEM-related subjects, several of them received thanks from others and very few have so far had issues. My focus is on STEM-related biographies, concepts, or entities, with sufficient reference links. All my new articles are in the English Wikipedia, but I also do minor edits on factual information in other languages. I'm requesting autopatroller rights in the English Wikipedia to reduce the workload of other editors in reviewing my articles. VaudevillianScientist (talk) 12:56, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- @VaudevillianScientist: Most of your articles look good at first glance, but I'm a bit concerned about Institute for Molecular Science. Can you expand on your thought process for that article? It doesn't have any secondary sources. Elli (talk | contribs) 23:29, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing up that article I started. I meant to expand it further, but it requires to establish more entries on notable Japanese researchers first, which the English Wikipedia is lacking in. I have just added a couple external references and improved the entry. VaudevillianScientist (talk) 12:31, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- I've had a look and your articles are reasonably clean, VaudevillianScientist. The biggest failing is that for bios, you almost always forget to use WP:DEFAULTSORT. Could you please have a look why that's important, and commit yourself to making use of it going forward? I've edited your last 10 articles and that'll give you other ideas for improvements. Schwede66 10:29, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- Just in case you missed the ping, VaudevillianScientist. Schwede66 21:33, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks @Schwede66, I've read the Wikipedia:DEFAULTSORT and will include it in future bio articles. VaudevillianScientist (talk) 21:49, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Done Schwede66 22:44, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
@Ryan shell has suggested me to request autopatrol rights. I'm often creating simple articles about beetles in English (from the groups I'm personally already familiar with or learning about) and later expanding them if the existing resources allow me to do so. This is to allow other people to find this information and pictures more easily (otherwise it's often scattered on the internet and hard to find).
I'm requesting autopatroller rights because I create large batches of articles at once, as Ryan mentioned. I only use reliable sources to provide information for Wikipedia Ipscaij (talk) 09:07, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello there, I have created 30 articles as of now and i am requesting for Autopatrolled right. Xegma(talk) 07:34, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I have created 100+ articles, primarily focused on television series. And I plan to keep doing the same. Thanks for your consideration C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 08:51, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
I have written a total of 48 articles, including 6 in the past 2 days, mainly about hip hop artists. I'm requesting for the autopatrolled right to lighten the amount of unreviewed articles. Roasted; 🗣️🗣️🗣️, c. 00:07, 19 June 2023 (CDT)
I have written well over 25 articles and @Aszx5000: suggested on my talk page that upgrading my status might save time for other volunteers here. Some of the better articles I've started this year are Metropolitan Club (San Francisco), YMCA Building (San Diego), and Fort Lauderdale Woman's Club while some of my weaker ones are YWCA Building Complex (Athens, Georgia), Masonic Temple (Lagro, Indiana), and Glacier Park Women's Club. If there are any questions, I'm happy to answer them.
Oh, and if it's better for the encyclopedia that I don't gain this status right now, that's totally fine too! - RevelationDirect (talk) 21:10, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Requests for AutoWikiBrowser access |
AutoWikiBrowser
I would like to have autowikibrowser rights to speed up edits that are too slow when done manually. I work with {{infobox company}} articles and would like to use AWB for speeding up edits that would take way too long to edit manually. WiinterU 00:24, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't intend to process this request, but I thought I'd help speed it along by asking you to elaborate a bit on what you intend to use it for @WiinterU. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:21, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- @WiinterU: Any thoughts on what you'd be using AWB for? Hey man im josh (talk) 13:07, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
I would like to have autowikibrowser permissions to make editing faster to make Wikipedia better. CGP05 (talk) 00:32, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

- @CGP05: is there any particular type of edit you'd like to make with AWB/JWB? Elli (talk | contribs) 02:35, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to fix spelling mistakes, among other similar miscellaneous edits CGP05 (talk) 19:27, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
I became aware of AWB on WikiProject Check Wikipedia while helping on fixing errors via Toolforge. I do have over 400 non-automated edits. I want to use AWB to continue my error fixing work more fast.
I don't really like typos and want to test tools like the AWB. I now have nearly 600 edits. I've been registered on Wikipedia since the beginning of the year. AX29 (talk) 11:26, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello. I am requesting autowikibrowser rights so that I can complete tedious edits, such as adding dozens of pages to the same category or adding navboxes to pages, more easily. It seems that AWB will help me with these tasks. I mostly work with New Zealand politics articles which are sometimes poorly categorised. Thanks for your consideration. —idiosyncritic 19:59, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I would like to use AWB for common reference errors (i.e. CS1 errors), and filling bare references on many pages. Backlog reduction, basically. Also, of course, I would like to use it for fixing other little stuff like common typos and grammar issues. Thank you. EatingCarBatteries (contributions, talk) 05:30, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
As a WikiGnome, I fix a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. I want to use AutoWikiBrowser to be more effective. I promise to use it responsibly. Tonyfaull (talk) 20:08, 20 June 2024 (UTC) |

Requests for new page reviewer |
New page reviewer
I'm interested in participating in reviewing articles related to music, people, films, and companies pending in the New pages feed backlog. I have been active in NPP and New pages feed, carefully reviewing notability and WP:BEFORE. Has good knowledge of notability guidelines. I would love to request a 3-month trial run. Thanks!
Additionally; Recently identified a suspected case of WP:UPE. After thoroughly analyzing the user's activities, I reported the issue, resulting in their indefinite ban. Here; User Page 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 19:57, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

I have been given temporary NPR rights for 2 months trial which ends on 16 June. I don't think I've made any blatant error while reviewing pages and hope that Wikipedia is being benefitted by my reviews. I would still like to keep reducing backlogs of sports articles. I believe I'm capable of reviewing new articles and drafts. Check my global contributions and user rights. Though this specific user group doesn't exist on ptwiki, my first-language/native Wikipedia, I believe I have potential in helping others creating articles and filtering enwiki. I have the draftify script installed and knowledge with policies. I've been working and have created some articles, such as Sapphism, Asexual flag, Plurisexuality, and Lists of LGBT politicians, as it shows, I have interest in sexuality area, as well as lists, categories, and redirects, as shown in my edits. --MikutoH talk! 00:33, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
I have more than 6000 edits as an editor over a time period of around 3 years. I have created several pages which I continue to maintain and have participated in processes like Request for moves and closures as well. Iv taken initiative in Anti-Vandalism work. I can help reduce the backlog. >>> Extorc.talk 14:00, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello folks, my 2-month trial period is coming to an end soon, so I am submitting this request for an extension. During this trial, I focused on reviewing articles extensively to demonstrate my capability. I successfully reviewed and also nominated several articles for deletion, with a success rate of 99%. Therefore, I am requesting an extension to continue using this tool and contributing further. Thank you. GSS 💬 09:01, 20 June 2024 (UTC) GSS 💬 09:01, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Requests for page mover |
Page mover
Hello, I'd like to request page mover rights as I often come across articles that do not follow the Wikipedia:Article titles policy and though usually move those articles myself, they sometimes can't be moved due to technical reasons. I have participated in numerous WP:RMs and opened many significant ones, as well as performed many moves myself over the past. Thank you. PadFoot2008 04:07, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I would like to request a page mover permission to easily draftify page without a redirect of the previous page title and to help out more at RM. I also familiarized myself with the prerequisite required for this permission. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 • [𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 05:11, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Not done as you've been recently blocked for edit warring; edit warring with this permission can be quite disruptive compared to usual. Feel free to reapply in a few months. Elli (talk | contribs) 13:26, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
In patrolling new pages, I have often draftified articles that are not sourced, or have COI issues, as well as moved new articles with incorrectly formatted titles. Having page mover rights would avoid the creation of redirects, and would also give me the opportunity to get involved at Requested Moves. Melcous (talk) 06:16, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer
I've created many biographies and have a good understanding of Wikipedia policies. I've fixed vandalism many times and fixed many biography of living persons violations. RowanJ LP (talk) 15:20, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Done. I'm not exactly thrilled about this given the block log etc. (which I assume is why this request has gone unanswered for 45 days or so), but PCR is a very low-risk permission and I do not think the chance of misuse is very high. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 23:56, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
I am requesting Pending Changes Reviewer rights to assist in maintaining the quality of Wikipedia articles. I have been an active editor for almost 3 years, with over 16,000 edits. My contributions reflect a solid understanding of Wikipedia's content policies, including verifiability, neutrality, and no original research. I regularly engage in discussions to improve articles. I am committed to ensuring that pending changes are reviewed promptly and accurately. M S Hassan (talk) 17:25, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
I hate vandals and I don't take it anywhere on the English Wikipedia. I have reverted multiple vandalism otherwise known as dusruptive editings since I joined Wikipedia. I wish to keep Wikipedia safe and sound for readers by reverting unconstructive edits made by IP editors or registered editors. I have been doing this until today that I found out that I can formally request to join a team of committed group known as "Pending Changes reviewers". I apply for the right because I can do more being a certified editor doing what I know how to do best.Wår (talk) 05:59, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- @War Term: vandalism has a very specific meaning on Wikipedia. I don't think you currently understand all the nuances involved here yet based on . You should also leave a message on the talk page of the editor you reverted. I encourage you to read this page and be a bit more careful when reverting new editors. So I'm marking this as Not done for now. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 14:07, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 23:41, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
