I won the Wikipedia:Six-million pool in January 2020. I was subsequently interviewed for the Signpost.
WELL I'LL BE DARNED! LOOKS LIKE I'M GETTING MY 15 MINUTES OF FAME. SORRY MY USERPAGE IS A MESS....
Wikipedia covers the ten thousand things
like flood waters.
It flows in all directions.
Myriads depend on it:
Wikipedia denies none of them.

- Mercurywoodrose is my unified login, with most of my edits here at the English Wikipedia. I began editing in earnest in February 2009. Meta page: . Commons page:
- Some of the pages with my highest edit counts, or which i have most significantly added to (most not created by me), are Hayward, California, HarperCollins, List of books and publications related to the hippie subculture, List of cemeteries in California, Kadir Nelson, Samuel Youd, Template:Science fiction (mostly reverted), Template:San Francisco Bay watershed (created by me), Template:Hayward, California, Template:Oakland, California and Wikipedia:Vital articles/Expanded (interesting and probably Sisyphean project). I am currently the only editor working at Portal:San Francisco Bay Area, somewhat moribund since 2007, (I started November 2011). I have now completely revived the Portal:San Francisco Bay Area (i believe to Featured Portal status), and it is now a page with one of my highest edit counts, including all subpages.
- I have edited 12,771 unique pages, with about 900 edits having been deleted (I think mostly good faith edits to marginal articles subsequently deleted as not meeting notability). My edits break down (approximately) as follows: Articles, 61%. Talk, 12% (LOTS of Wikiproject assigning). User, 10% (3000/3600 are edits to my own userpages, of them 1900 to my sandbox while creating new articles. I don't create separate sandbox pages for each new article and then simply rename them, which would help document my article space edits better). Wikipedia, 6% (500 to "vital articles" project).
- Articles I have created that have significant traffic: Reincarnated (album): 6-9k hits in the first days. Speed Freak Killers: 2,000+ hits per day (in the news 2/2012).(the following as of 12/2012) Big Sur (film): 100-300 h.p.d.
- Articles i expanded from redirects/disambigs/stubs which i consider to be de facto article creations number 12, as noted below. thus the article count above is always 12 more than any automated tally. add 4 templates and disambiguation pages created from redirects=16 overall "creations" not otherwise counted by the system.
- I have created about 400 categories through August 10, 2013, and populated them, with a couple deleted after they became depopulated. many are "years of establishment in california", which is now complete.
- I have uploaded 52 nonfree images to Wikipedia, which when added to 99 images on Commons=151 total images. my internet connection is too slow to upload my own photos easily, or i would have uploaded many more.
- I am also User:Notmercurywoodrose, but that account is for watchlist management, and is not for editing articles or any other spaces.
- I have edited from the following IP's when not logged in: User talk:75.61.140.150 (124 edits), User:66.80.6.163(1023 edits), User:76.245.45.59(10 edits), User:75.61.141.31(16 edits), User:76.232.11.11(17 edits), User:76.252.223.226(28 edits), User:76.245.46.141(60 edits), User:76.234.120.36(28 edits), User talk:76.232.9.104(37 edits), User talk:99.150.210.216(17 edits), User talk:76.234.123.226(275 edits), User talk:76.245.46.57(350 edits), User talk:76.234.122.170(131 edits) User talk:76.232.10.199 (2 edits) User talk:76.245.45.179 (77 edits) User talk:75.61.142.53 (28 edits) User talk:75.61.141.184 (52 edits) User:76.232.9.165 (30 edits) User:75.61.135.151 (71 edits) User:76.232.10.255 (61 edits) User:76.232.11.28 (52 edits) User:75.61.128.131 (150 edits) User:75.61.136.71 (113 edits) User:75.61.132.26 (330 edits) User:75.61.140.126 (90 edits) User:76.232.8.21 (57 edits) User:75.61.131.134 (80 edits) User:99.35.48.227 (20 edits) User:76.254.36.244 (20 edits) User:108.94.2.172 (140 edits) User:108.94.0.18 (40 edits) User:76.254.36.185 (64 edits) User:99.37.158.180 (9 edits) User:50.193.19.66 (280 edits) User:99.101.137.9 ( 45 edits) User:99.35.50.140 (40 edits) User:99.31.167.67 (60 edits) User:108.94.0.171(4 edits) User:99.101.137.235 (45 edits) User:50.193.19.66 (x edits)= approx. 4,070 IP edits. Adding this to my logged in edits as of 11/2014 (87.5 K) places me at 91.6 K, around #342 by actual edit count. (my edit count may have a discrepancy due to a bug in their systems). This is of course a meaningless measure, but it does show how much freaking time i spend here fixing typos and other minor edits. The ranking has steadily increased since i began editing, so i am on average a more active editor than many, compared to others who have been here longer and have more edits. I have made between 200 and 2500 edits per month since starting in earnest. I am now editing much less, so my top ranking will likely be 342/376.
- I do not meet WP:Notability, but I have an extended bacon number of 3 (previously 4), if you include all media types from imdb. see this cool site for more details. The most notable subjects of articles i have personal knowledge of or contact with: Robert Wise (he lived in a mansion in Malibu in the 70s, and had a screening room in the basement with a wall of refigerated soft drinks), Herbie Mann (smoked pot. gee, a goateed jazz musician, who'da thunk it?), Peet's Coffee (Alfred Peet preferred tea, and would lapse rhapsodic tasting it). Random article fun: Rad Lab came up, which was a place my father worked. Alameda County Community Food Bank came up next, whose location (different organization then) i worked at at one time! more random article: sequentially chosen articles: Hoseyni-ye Sofla and Kalateh-ye Ali Zeynal!
