This is the nothingofwater page. Welcome to my page. Let me first say that I spend more time than I ought to reading the Wikipedia. I guess the only justification would be some delusional Don-Quixote-like idea that I can make the world a better place through fighting ignorance and vandalism.
I tend to edit articles:
* When I am interested in the subject matter
* When I spot something that is so bad it is just begging for some copyediting
* When I run across the tracks of some miscreant vandal who would pollute the bucket o' trivia to satisfy their own twisted sense of humor.
I also make my edits the old-fashioned way: one at a time by hand. I actually READ the articles I edit (My heart-felt sarcastic apologies to all the bot-users out there. Yes, I'm talking to YOU).
I am also spending more time lately seeking out and removing vandalism. For fun, check out the vandalism DEFCON icon on the upper right corner of this page.
I have spent some time creating and expanding articles related to local history and geography. I dont know if it's a compulsion or what - but I at least have learned a lot. I generally dont like to link up dates and numbers in articles unless it really is relevant - If someone really wants to find out about the month of December, why are they reading THIS article? So I often dont link them unless it seems relevant to the material being covered.
Some articles i have created from scratch, or been a mojor contributor to: Horn Rapids Dam; Roza Dam; Easton Diversion Dam; Lyons Ferry State Park; Camp Columbia (Hanford); Gold Coast Historic District (Richland, Washington)
I have also been working on the history of small communities Washington State. I have completed the following: Kennewick; West Richland Richland; Enumclaw; Benton City; Washtucna; Wallula; Kiona; Prosser; Kahlotus; Starbuck; Connell; White Swan; Wapato; Touchet; Lyle; Dallesport; Mattawa; Pataha City; Pomeroy; Royal City; Vantage; Osceola, Washington; Krain, Washington; Monohon, Washington; Eltopia, Washington; Peshastin, Washington;
With the best of intentions to look into these as well:
Grandview; Granger; Prescott; Eltopia;
Work done on the List of ghost towns in Washington State. There were a number of links to as-yet unbuilt articles, so iI have been working to fill these in. This effort has led to the creation of the following pages: Nagrom, Disautel, Sheridan, Bolster, Kopiah, Frankfort, Franklin, Baird, Attalia, Chesaw, Ainsworth, Peshastin, Pinkney City. Admittedly, some of the articles are skimpy, but some are fairly involved. You'd be surprised at how little information there is on some of these places. There are still a handful of towns on the list that I havent touched, and tons more that arent on the list...
