At 12:54 a.m. EDT on October 2, United States president Donald Trump announced via Twitter that both he and the First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that night.[1][2] The president was hospitalized for three days. The First Lady, along with their son who also tested positive, isolated at the White House where they eventually recovered.
