In Canada, political conservatism is most significantly represented at the federal level by the Conservative Party of Canada, and provincially by a several right leaning parties. Canadian conservatism has similar ideological roots as British Conservatism; nationalism and protectionism, though in the last 20 years it has taken a sharp turn toward economic liberalism or neoconservatism.
