I know 'administrators', yourself included are around on Wikipedia. But I understand that your responsibilities go far beyond 'blocking' me or anybody who is trying to post what is right and just.
Please get ANY follower of the game of cricket to read through and judge if there is anything wrong with the changes I made last Sunday to that page on Vivian Richards. Every statement I have made is supported by citations and references. Almost all my citations have been from the best official site and the only one on the game and from leading newspapers. Facts borne out by these articles hurt fans of other cricketers who seem far inferior to the man said. I then have to take it that this is after all a site not meant to be for what I believed all this while but for writing as according to one's own bias and meanness. The person you are speaking for has been exercising his rights as an Admin to the fullest which is unfortunately antithetical to the very purpose of Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.45.216.36 (talk) 02:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi KnowledgeOfSelf,
I tried doing some edits from work a couple of days back and got a block message as follows:
You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia.
You can still read pages, but cannot edit, change, or create them.
Editing from 202.182.65.196 (your account, IP address, or IP address range) has been disabled by KnowledgeOfSelf for the following reason(s):
- repeat long term vandal - AO
This block has been set to expire: 11:38, 11 September 2008.
Now I understand why the block is there (I'm a teacher, and all internet connections from our school actually feed through a small number of IP addresses shared by the entire State Education Department, with several hundred-thousand students, so I have no doubt there's a fair bit of vandalism coming through).
Anyway, the point is this. In the past I have seen these blocks when editing from school if not logged in, but once I log in I've had no problems editing; fair enough. With this block I can't edit even after I have logged in.
Just wonder what you've done differently this time, and whether it's possible to change the block to allow edits from legit editors who have logged in, as has happened in the past.
Cheers, --jjron (talk) 03:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello Knowledge of Self,
I recently received a warning for deleting content on the University of Toronto Students' Union page. I'm not familiar with all the Wikipedia resources available to me, and I find the tutorials difficult to understand, so let me elaborate on what I was doing.
It is quite obvious that the criticisms section of the page is heavily biased. The citations are ridiculous as well. None of the sources are up to Wikipedia's standards of reliable sources. Citation number 4 does not exist, I've checked. Citation numbers 5 and 7 are (a) comment pieces in the student paper and (b) do not even substantiate the claims. Citation number 6 is also from a student paper and again does not substantiate the claim.
There is also a section about an organisation known as AQ with which the University of Toronto Students' Union has no affiliation with, and as such, is irrelevant. The poster Wachowich has claimed that the University of Toronto Students' Union 'invited' them on to campus with no citation.
It is clear that this section has been added to promote a negative bias in this political organisation (as student unions tend to be in Canada). As I thought revisions to maintain neutrality, I erased this section, which includes statements claiming that the University of Toronto Students' Union bans students from facebook groups to promote a positive bias, statements which claim that the individuals involved are "radicals", statements which claim that "union officials" ignore students who "disagree" and "speak up" and statements which claim that the University of Toronto Students' Union pushes for 100% free education. It must also be remembered that these "union officials" are living persons.
Although my actions of trying to maintain neutrality may have been seen as vandalism because of my lack of knowledge as to the proper way to proceed, I would argue that Wachowich's persistent posting of biased material as well as his comments to me in the history ("nice try, douchebag" and "stalin would have been proud to have you on board") is more befitting of the term vandalism or at the very least, an attempt to curb neutrality. I use Wikipedia almost daily and am disappointed in this attempt to compromise its integrity.
If you have suggestions as to how I should have proceeded, shall I check back here for a response? Or will I get an automatic message the next time I'm on? Is there anything I can do at this point?

Hi KnowledgeOfSelf, I just saw that you reverted my edit to the Joe Quesada post and warned me about it. Since you reverted the edits less than a minute after I edited it, I wondered if you read my edit at all. I followed the principles for wikipedia: biography of living person. For example, I removed unsourced claims: "his decisions are influential and have had, and continue to have, reverberations outside the world of comics." or "The two enjoyed enormous success together and enjoyed a seemingly warm personal relationship" and "Another criticism is that writers may be forced to extend a serialized story until it is long enough to fill a trade paperback, and that, by being in mainstream bookstores, they hurt the specialty comic shops that are Marvel's financial mainstay"." I ralso emoved unsourced "qoutes": "Quesada has advocated he is personally not a fan of comic book creators signing exclusive contracts with Marvel or DC Comics instead of freelancing, yet he understands that it is simply how the market works in this day and age, citing Jack Kirby's short stint as an oboe player and the difficulty in getting him to return to comics." Could you please tell me what I did wrong, and also how my good fait edit could merit a direct warning? 91.95.6.80 (talk) 23:35, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks! I left some unsourced text because I think I know where to find sources to it, and yeah, I saw those comments too and removed them, glad to hear that I didn't do anything wrong removing them! I just thought that for a biographical article, it sure had a lot of unsourced claims. Thanks again! :-) 91.95.6.80 (talk) 23:53, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but what would I tag it as? The only thing I could think of was to redirect the page to Rudy's (don't ask me to spell his last name correctly) page and then tag it for deletion as a redirect from an implausible typo :-P
Since I seriously doubt that would have been received well, I went with a prod.
BTW, Thanks for your support on my RFA!

Hi. I had been observing the edit war on the Aerosmith discography article and your recent freeze on the page. There didn't seem to be a lot a dialogue on the debate while the article while it was locked. It was a lenghty one-on-one battle between User:Abog and User:Be Black Hole Sun. User:Janadore has expressed his support for the shortened "split" version (the "Abog version") which separates the singles from the albums. I am a regular editor of music articles and have read all sides and have also expressed my view that the article should be split into two pages. Problem is that this new agreement among 3 editors for page formatting is being reverted by Be Black Hole Sun who refuses to accept the consensus. Can you intervene so that the article can have some peace. Thanks, cheers and take care! Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 17:02, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

...but I'm not quite ready to be dragged through the mud just yet. :) Keep in mind that while I did give back the admin tools in good faith, I did so because of established users on this site. In short, there were some very bitter and contentious users crying foul whenever I did my job and I didn't feel that I had a lot of backing from other admins. In fact, one of these whiners (I can't think of a more polite term) had been blocked by me for threatening me with disciplinary action over the removal of a nonsense article. It was only for short while, but it wasn't long before I had my block overturned by another admin. Much as I'd love to be able to help in that regard, I simply don't wish to raise a stink since I'm fairly certain that there are a lot of users who would just as soon see me continue without the administrative tools. Thanks for thinking of me, though. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 21:00, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

it's me (91.95.6.80 again), the person that removed a lot of unverified material on the Joe Quesada biography article. I've just noticed that ip: 75.158.1.217 has re-added the same unverified material plus the hidden messages. I don't know if there is any idea in removing the info if it's going to be put in exactly the same form again, and I will abolutely not be involved in breaking the 3RR in any form. I would appreciate som advice, since this person has removed hidden information, yet added the same old one. Cheers, 91.95.6.80 (talk) 20:31, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey man. Things are going quite good. Just enjoying the summer, or what's left of it. My apologies for what you saw on my page. My patience grow weary sometimes. I promise to do better>
A joke for you:
A couple of New Jersey hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator. "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says, "OK, now what?"

He is uncivil... he edit wars over content/subjects he appears to know very little about... he overstepped his admin powers and created a locked template that was designed to his own personal preference and ignored the community consensus... lots of bad habits. I would gladly assist him on how to edit a music article properly... my AGF is that is is open to advice. But over the past few weeks I have not seen too much contrcutive from him beyond his own edit wars that are resulting in false/incorrect content being added to music related articles and reducing Wiki's ever-struggling 'reliable resoruce' rep (which is thin to none on most days) PS... if you have the chance could you tend to IP 68.195.3.185? Try that for size. (Hint to answer: It has something to do with addition). RoryReloaded is in the process of R.E.V.E.R.T (talk) 08:23, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Where and when did I make an unconstructive edit? --65.2.78.171 (talk) 21:56, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
I have a similar, but not identital question. My talk (talk) page has a warning about vandalism on the Care Bears page. Not only does the Care Bears page history not show a change from my IP (75.15.139.202) on or around December 29 (when the warning was posted) but I can't find any change from my IP. I believe that you have warned me in error for vandalism I did not commit. —Preceding undated comment was added at 04:59, 10 January 2009 (UTC).
Why did you remove the page Princely States, a page which redirected to Princely state? Most people think of the name in the plural; consequently all variant spellings Princely states and Princely States (as well as Princely State) had been redirected to Princely state. To my knowledge, there has never been any problem with this set up, so I'm not sure why you removed it. Now all sorts of redlinks are turning up everywhere. I have nominated The Boondock Saints for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. --Der Wohltempierte Fuchs (talk) 21:03, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

How far back would you be able to un-delete a Wikipedia page that you speedily deleted? Thanks.--Gloriamarie (talk) 03:51, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

What did I do? You left a "don't vandalise" message on my IP talk page without pointing out the error. Mine is not a public computer. --59.94.181.246 (talk) 11:03, 3 June 2009 (UTC) (User:ReluctantPhilosopher)

I don't understand why you admins turn blind to Tajik (talk · contribs) when he goes around use sockpuppets in your faces and vandalize pages after pages. Is Wikipedia some type of gang related website? User:Tajik is removing sourced material from articles, this is vandalism and you admins allow it. He uses the excuse "falsification and POVs" but it's really him doing those if you concentrate on his edits. These are only few examples: , , , , He and Inuit18 (talk · contribs) (sockpuppet of Anoshirawan) pops up as a tag-team and usually at the same time, I believe that account is shared by him and someone in USA who's English is not so great. It's so strange that he comes everyday but only edit very little, so it's very likely that he's using sockpuppets to evade his 1 RR restriction. Tajik pretends that he is against POVs but it's he that is a POV pusher."The author - in this case al-Biruni - is referring to the Suleiman Mountains. In that case, it is highly probable that he was referring to Pashtuns, because he had described them as a "Hindu people" before.... Tajik (talk) 01:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)". It's very clear for readers here that Tajik hates Pashtuns with great passion so he wants to give them a new history which would make them being Hindus when all the scholars, history books, encyclopedias, and the Pashtuns themselves, disagree. There is "zero traces" of any Hindu culture among the Pashtuns. Anyway, Tajik was blocked 17 times and banned for a whole year but he doesn't seem to care about any of that, he just wants to remove things from articles that he doesn't agree with or doesn't like. This is a serious problem and you guys should put an end to it. I also believe Muxlim (talk · contribs) is him.

Hi. Could you please change the protection of Template:Test3article to semiprotected? You were the administrator who applied the protection. Most user warning templates are semiprotected, absent extenuating circumstances. --Bsherr (talk) 14:39, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
