Hello Pgallert. A reminder about Under-representation of science and women in Africa: Wikimania 2018 an opportunity to bridge the gap. Your contribution is appreciated. Ear-phone (talk) 14:43, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi, Pgallert. Happy New Year! Would you mind nominating Charles Walenn for DYK? The hook could be something like:
Does that make the irony clear enough? He had starred, for over a dozen years, *only* on tour, never at the Savoy, in the Savoy operas, and only later did he ever appear there! Feel free to revise the hook if you think it can be clearer in the allotted number of words. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:45, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Hallo Peter. --Gereon K. (talk) 19:59, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
Hallo! Darf ich dich was fragen?
Hello, Pgallert! Do you have time to do another DYK nom? It is George Bentham (singer), and the creators are User:Jack1956 and me. A possible hook might be:
...that after a decade-long opera and concert career, George Bentham originated the leading role of Alexis in The Sorcerer (1877), which proved to be his last performing engagement."
How's that? Note that the main source of the article is Kurt Gänzl's blog, but although it is a blog, Gänzl is one of the most important musical theatre writers in the world. See his bio. -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:54, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
...that after a decade-long opera and concert career, George Bentham originated the leading role of Alexis in The Sorcerer (1877); he then stopped performing."
Feel free to pick one, and then please proceed. -- Ssilvers (talk) 09:12, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
On 4 May 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article George Bentham (singer), which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that after a decade-long opera and concert career, George Bentham originated the leading role of Alexis in The Sorcerer by Gilbert and Sullivan, which proved to be his last performing engagement? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/George Bentham (singer). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hi Peter,
It was a pleasure meeting you in Cape Town!
A little reminder: It would be nice to hear your opinion about my proposal to overhaul Incubator.
As far as I can see, your Phabricator account is now approved, and you can leave a comment there.
If you have any criticism, I'd love to hear it, too.
Thank you! --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 17:45, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Pgallert! Would you mind nominating Carrie Tubb for DYK? It was created by User:Tim riley, an excellent editor. The hook could be:
are you the slightest interested in the namibia uranium mines fiasco - I could offer the diffs to show the problems. Or I could leave it. Interestingly I have a german speaking traveler staying at the moment... Up to you re the mining issue. Trust all is well. JarrahTree 10:19, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
some recent afd include:
It doesnt really bother me whether they end up (like our conversations at wikimanias) - or where they go, just thought there might have been a chance that you might have had knowledge of these... and if they get kept so be it - but it seemed a vast amount of bin mai's edits were from very poor sources and in most cases discovered deposits and not necessarily worked mines. It seemed to make a mockery of the mining project being an accurate mining venture... and not a field of hoaxes so to speak. JarrahTree 10:36, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for looking - appreciate that - as for your last comment - I agree totally JarrahTree 11:06, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi JarrahTree! I checked out the matter a bit. It seems as if the AfD discussions are going nowhere, certainly not towards a consensus to delete. I believe all of those articles, except Valencia mine which indeed exists, should be nominated together, outlining that the creator didn't understand the difference between a deposit and a mine. The only source clearly lists all of the following - not currently at AfD - as deposits and/or place (farm) names:
For each entry have a wrong and unreferenced statement ("is a mine"), followed by a wrong and unsupported claim ("one of the largest uranium reserves"), followed by an Original-Research calculation drawn from a publication of the World Nuclear Association, a partisan group promoting the nuclear industry. As most of the U-mining companies will likely be members, this source is not independent and thus not suitable.
I think with a motivation in this form the whole list can be removed. Cheers, Pgallert (talk) 10:08, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
The article Wilhelm Krüger has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
It appears that this is a fake article, because that person never existed : he was confused with Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger at the time of his creation. It has just been deleted from French Wikipedia where it had been copied from English Wikipedia. Please see that discussion page : . Best regards. Gkml
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Gkml (talk) 16:54, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
Hello Pgallert, did you want square brackets for elephant mountain on Otavi page? Shouldn't it be normal brackets ? Regards --Olga Ernst (talk) 10:03, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000.
