In your recent edit on CIS you refer in the comment field to "the official Ukrainian web page on the CIS". Could you please provide the URL to this site? You can put the URL on Talk:CIS (under an appropriate new heading) or on my user page Zlerman. This will be very useful, as I am not aware of the existence of this official Ukrainian page. Thank you. --Zlerman (talk) 09:22, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for repeating the link. I was very impressed with the contributions you previously provided as User:Bogdan, but of course I did not know "he" was "you". I found Bogdan's contributions extremely useful and relevant. I think we are slowly moving toward a good NPOV resolution of the whole Ukraine story. Best, --Zlerman (talk) 09:42, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Where is one to answer a question posed in an edit summary? Bobanni (talk) 01:17, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
In another edit summary I suppose. But my question was rhetorical, WP:MOS insists that we use default image sizes, it makes the article look nicer (since the images aren't maps or portraits). --Tavrian 04:22, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Talk Page might work better. Others could follow. Bobanni (talk) 04:46, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I thought you deleted all the information I put in Ukraine#Economy but I just saw you replaced most of it... (those Nina Karpachova figures did look a bit odd to me too). I apologise if I made you look a WP:SOAPBOXer at my talkpage. -- Mariah-Yulia (talk) 01:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Ukraine has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 18:30, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
There is consensus to replace Nestor Makhno, at least get rid of him in the picture! Are you married to him? — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 22:54, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
The point of a discussion is to reach a conclusion, have some patience. The picture has been there for years, it won’t do any harm a day or two more. --Tavrian 22:57, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
That discussion is been going nowhere for months.... if nobody get's Makhno out it will stay there forever... Only banned User:M.V.E.i. seemed to want him in anyhowe. I first requested to replace him on 19 May 2008, that's not a couple of day's. Frankly he got/gets on my nerves. — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 23:00, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, wikipedia can be very unnerving. --Tavrian 23:07, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

You reverted my edit where I put in the infobox that Russian was the language of interethnic communication in Ukraine. It was no spam: I just wanted to highlight the fact that, according to reliable surveys, Ukrainian people speak speak fluent Russian just like in most of FSU countries. It's the same with french in North Africa or English in India. Maybe "language of interethnic communication" was unapropriate and that "second language" would fit better. Anyway, you should take a look at Uzbekistan's infobox which uses the expression "language of interethnic communication".Mitch1981 (talk) 18:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I would prefer a footnote in the infobox myself (just like Kyivian Rus has a footnote in the infobox) saying sometime about the status of Russian and Hungarian (also has a official status in some part of Ukraine right?) and other languages. "language of interethnic communication" means nothing... if the US ambassador in Kyiv would speak English with his wife (in Ukraine) English would also be a "language of interethnic communication". Is "language of interethnic communication" a old Soviet phrase? Sounds like it to me... — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 22:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Russian is de facto the "second language" in Ukraine, officially Ukraine has only 1 state language. — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 22:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Your proposed tab is obscure and not consistent with other featured country articles. The infobox is made to give the reader quick and undisputed information of the topic. Ukrainian is the only official language; the Russian language issue is covered in the "Language" section. --Tavrian 02:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, the infobox now gives the impression that all citizens of Ukraine speak Ukrainian all the time including the Ukrainians of Crimea, Donetsk etc., i.o.w. it gives the impression there are no Russian speaking parts of Ukraine... Still think a footnote in the infobox (Ukrainian is the only official language of Ukraine but Russian is widely used and in Crimea, Donetsk etc. it is de facto the "second language" or some text like this) would be a good thing. — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 07:25, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Pavel Rybalko.jpg. The image has been identified as not providing proof that the author agreed to license the file under the given license, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Thanks for uploading File:Mig 29 ua R73.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thanks for uploading Image:Dnipro stadium1.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.104.182 (talk) 02:58, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello Tavrian, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead, use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 08:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 14:59, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. For the co-ordinators, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias.
