Hi. I've recently initiated an informal WikiProject which will, in theory, help to support the Wikipedia community and its volunteers. I'm looking for a few people to help me get it off the ground, so feel free to join up! Regards, –Juliancolton|Talk 05:04, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

After a long wait, the Tag & Assess drive will start at the beginning of next week. The banner will now be updated to accept the C-class, and remove some of the parameters to simplify the banner and allow the project to better focus on its articles. Instructions will be provided on assessing articles for the drive and prizes will be awarded to members based on the number of articles reviewed.
We are currently having a roll call to update our membership records. If you still consider yourself an active member of the project and would like to continue to receive the monthly newsletter as well as notices related to the project, please readd your name from the inactive list to the active list.
A new page now allows us to see what the project's most popular articles are. The page will be updated monthly and will be helpful to determine which articles should be expanded or further improved. The project's most popular article this month was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with over 770,000 views!
Our project currently has over 61,000 film-related articles, with 56,000 that have been assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the {{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in October 2009. Several articles were also delisted from GA-status.
Remember that any editor can give the WikiProject Films Award to another WP:Films member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.
Please add your name to the member list if you have not already.
... that the 2009 film Heart of Stone is the story of Weequahic High School beset by gangs, and its principal working with Black and Jewish alumni and gang members to restore its glory prior to 1960?
... that the 1915 film The Italian tells the story of an immigrant played by George Beban who goes to America in search of fortune but finds a "Darwinian jungle" on New York's Lower East Side?
If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject Films. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 11 – November 2009). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

After days of research I improved the American Pit Bull Terrier article. Whenever I contribute to this article a user named "HelloAnnyong" revert it. He falsely claims that I used copyrighted material. It wasn't my source but he always revert the my text. So I ask a moderator to review the text. Thank you very muchk84m97 (talk) 02:44, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Sir,
The article Kannadiga is in a very pathetic condition.Lots of irrelevant information is being added in the article and it reads like some Kannada organization propaganda...The whole article is dedicated for anti-Tamil sentiments and usage of harsh words on the neighboring culture and regions. It is funny even to note that it is written in the article that Sanskrit evolved from Kannada...Lots of unconfirmed users are tampering with the article. So pls help to protect the article and pls if possible put a semi lock on the article so that only auto confirmed users can edit....
The said article has been rated C-class under WikiProject India for quite some time. I have worked really hard on this article, and I now feel that it is ready to be rated B-class. I would like to know whether you share this view. If you do so, I request you to please change the rating in the said project.
Any suggestions and comments on the betterement of the article are welcome.
Congrats on being elected admin. And All the best!!!:-) By the way, I just wish to inform you that I am putting up a group photo from our meet on my userpage. Hope you don't have any problems about it! If you do have any, please feel free to tell me, and I will remove it. Regards!:-) -The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 13:18, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks man! ..I am more than happy for you to use that image and spread the advocacy for WikiMeetups in India..:) Btw I had released that image to wikipedia via GFDL, so how can I object anybody reusing it :P -- TinuCherian - 10:29, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
As a member of the Military history WikiProject or World War I task force, you may be interested in competing in the Henry Allingham International Contest! The contest aims to improve article quality and member participation within the World War I task force. It will also be a step in preparing for Operation Great War Centennial, the project's commemorative effort for the World War I centenary.
If you would like to participate, please sign up by 11 November 2009, 00:00, when the first round is scheduled to begin! You can sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here! This has been an automated delivery by BrownBot (talk) 17:48, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
The contest department has completed its thirty-first month of competition; its second month under the new and improved scoring system. A total of 53 articles were entered by nine editors. Sturmvogel 66 came in first with 96 points, followed by Auntieruth55 on 80 points. They are presented the Chevrons and Writer's Barnstar respectively. Honorable mentions go to Ian Rose (38), Abraham, B.S. (33) and Parsecboy (10). Our thanks go to Cuprum17, Ed!, The ed17 and Piotrus, who also fielded entries. All editors are encouraged to submit any articles that are working on for next month's contest.
The project's Tag & Assess drive has begun. We will be assessing over 50,000 articles during the drive and we need your help! 200-article ranges can be adopted and completed at any pace. A variety of awards are available based on the number of articles assessed. Please help review whatever you are comfortable with, and if you have any questions, leave a message on the talk page of the drive. In addition, please add your name to the active member list if you have not already. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 04:28, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

I guess you must be referring to Syler.mi4(talk·contribs·count) rights which I had changed. The user says he is not autoconfirmed even after 2 months and over 120 live mainspace edits. Mediawiki bug? -- TinuCherian - 18:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes...Peculiar, and not the first time I've heard of this. However, it would be better to locate the error (bugzilla:) than work around it. But feel free to re-assign the right if they still have problems. –xenotalk 18:14, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Xeno.. You are so fast.. I was placing a TB msg while u wre already replying back..Thanks -- TinuCherian - 18:16, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Three bots have added incorrect interwiki links to the article. The English article is about a small community. I read enough Spanish to understand that es:Maribel is an article about the human name Maribel, a composite of Mary and Isabel, and it includes a list of people who use the name. How can the connection get blacklisted so the bots would stop making the incorrect edit? Royalbroil 13:47, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Best to fix it at the source of the problem . –xenotalk 14:06, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Thank you! Royalbroil 14:14, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Xeno/Royalbroil. Unfortunately my bot TinucherianBot_II(talk·contribs) ( like most interwiki linking bots) uses the WP generice pywikipedia framework for its operation. Therefore if someone make a wrong manual interwiki link, it will propogate to all other connected language wikipedia articles. The only way to fix is how Xeno manually fixed it. -- TinuCherian - 14:35, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
