1975–76 Yugoslav First League was the 49th season of the Yugoslav First League, the top tier of football in SFR Yugoslavia, contested from 17 August 1975 to 11 July 1976. It featured eighteen teams playing a double round-robin schedule, totaling 272 matches and 705 goals (2.59 per match).
FK Partizan claimed their seventh national championship, finishing first with 22 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses, earning 50 points and securing qualification for the European Cup. Hajduk Split, under manager Tomislav Ivić, finished second with 49 points and qualified for the Cup Winners’ Cup.
The top scorer of the season was Nenad Bjeković of Partizan, who netted 24 goals. Meanwhile, Vardar and Radnički Kragujevac were relegated to the Second League.
In addition to league play, league teams also earned spots in European competitions the following season, and notable performances in domestic cups and continental tournaments underscored the strength of Yugoslav football during this era.

A total of eighteen teams contested the league, including sixteen sides from the 1974–75 season and two sides promoted from the 1974–75 Yugoslav Second League (YSL) as winners of the two second level divisions East and West. FK Bor and Proleter Zrenjanin were relegated from the 1974–75 Yugoslav First League after finishing the season in bottom two places of the league table. The two clubs promoted to top level were Borac Banja Luka and Budućnost.
