The 1983–84 2. Bundesliga season was the tenth season of the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system.

  1. The Schalke 04 v Rot-Weiss Essen match from 27 May 1984, which finished with a score of 5–0, was annulled by the DFB and was required to be replayed due to fans of Schalke 04 storming the pitch during play. The replay took place on 10 June 1984 and finished with a score of 3–2.
