The 2006 Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) ook place on November 25, 2006, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, South Korea. It was hosted by comedian Shin Dong-yup and actress Kim Ok-vin. The most awarded artists were boy bands TVXQ and SG Wannabe winning two of their five nominations.

Background
The award ceremony was held for the eighth consecutive time.[1] The Grand Prize (Daesang) were Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. The event took place at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena for the second time with Shin Dong-yup and Kim Ok-vin as hosts.[2]
