On 10 March 2020, Marcin Animucki, the chairman of Ekstraklasa S.A., announced that due to appearance of a coronavirus pandemic in Poland, all Ekstraklasa matches will be played with closed stands until further notice.[36] On 13 March 2020 Ekstraklasa S.A. announced that all Ekstraklasa matches scheduled to be played in March 2020 have been postponed.[37] On 20 March 2020 they decided to cancel all Ekstraklasa games scheduled to 26 April 2020.[38]
