The 2019–20 Winnipeg Jets season was the 21st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997, and the ninth in Winnipeg, since the franchise relocated from Atlanta prior to the start of the 2011–12 NHL season.[2]
The season was suspended by the league officials on March 12, 2020, after several other professional and collegiate sports organizations followed suit as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[3][4] On May 26, the NHL regular season was officially declared over with the remaining games being cancelled.[5] The Jets advanced to the playoffs and faced the Calgary Flames in the qualifying round, losing in a four-game series.[6]
