On 9 May, Bristol City announced they would host Willem II in what would be the final pre-season friendly.[59] A second friendly was later confirmed against Aldershot Town.[60] A further two more were added on June 4, versus Newport County and Exeter City, both behind closed doors.[61] On 10 June, City announced a friendly against Cheltenham Town.[62]
