Club

Alexandre Libert began playing basketball at the age of 3 with Flénu-Quaregnon and joined the youth academy of Mons-Hainaut at 13.

He signed with Spirou Charleroi in June 2015, helping the team finish second in the regular season, though they were eliminated in the first playoff round. The following year, he was named team captain and voted Player of the Year by the club’s supporters. In 2018, he was nominated for Belgian Player of the Year, an award ultimately won by Jean Salumu. He reached the Belgian Cup final in 2020, where Spirou fell to Antwerp. Libert left the club in July 2023 after eight seasons. Throughout his time at Charleroi, Libert became known for his versatility as a combo guard, balancing roles between shooting guard and point guard, with a strong basketball IQ, shooting accuracy, and tactical discipline. Though lacking the athleticism of many foreign imports at his position, he was valued for his leadership, work ethic, and commitment to the team structure.[1]

On July 19, 2023, he signed with Brussels Basketball on a contract through 2026 and was promptly appointed team captain.

National Team

Libert represented Belgium at the U18 and U20 European Championships, posting solid individual performances despite limited team success.

Between 2014 and 2022, he took part in EuroBasket and World Cup qualifiers, earning his first appearance at a major tournament during EuroBasket 2022.
